On this page you will find a brief description of our history and our aims as a collective to scootering and scooterists in the North East region

Whats current to you

Here we will cover the latest news that affects our scene and also on our events and others. Its also a chance for you to contribute news that you think will be of benefit to our collective. There is a direct link with our new Public FaceBook Group (NESC Discussion Group) on each story that allows you to make comment, keeping the discussion going and news unto date. If you have a news item, please use the form at the bottom of the page. Photos can be emailed to us at iain@northeastscooteristscollective.co.uk or sent in Messenger.

A Calendar is provided here for easy access to events. There is also a direct link with our new Public FaceBook Group (NESCEventsClubandMusicEvents) for advertising. Events can easily be created on the FB group and easily shared with other groups and friends. If you have an event, please use the form at the bottom of the page to let us know so the it can be included in the Calendar as it can only be changed at our end. Photos/Info etc. can be emailed to us at iain@northeastscooteristscollective.co.uk or sent in Messenger if you want us to create the event for you.

NESC EVENTS

This section will only feature information on our specific events, meet-ups and ride outs and charity events. Clean and simple heads up on future events and detailed instructions in one place. These will of course be included on the Events Calendar and also in posts on the dedicated FaceBook NESCEventsClubandMusicEvents group.

Due to the huge response on FaceBook to ideas for who we should support, this will be announced later after ongoing research into the suggested charities and who we can support the best throughout 2021.

NESC DISCUSSION FACEBOOK GROUP

THE PLACE TO SOUND OFF

Here is the place to discuss the latest issues that affect us all in scootering in the North East, whether its legislation, the law, public attitude, the press, national events, or other scooterists and you have an opinion to share.

The new NESC Discussion FaceBook Group will provide that forum without any advertising or irrelevant posts.

So why a website?

The North East Scooterists Collective FaceBook Group setup earlier in August was initially designed to give information on our Meet-Ups, Ride Outs and other Events.

The group was set up as a Private group to try and only attract scooterists in the North East region as its members. However the membership of this group quickly expanded to around 900 members. Many connected with the scene but not all are scooterists.

Moderating this group to try and steer clear of advertising posts and other unrelated content has been a nightmare and has proved over time to be near on impossible due to the amount of posts being made.

Many post with good intent but the messages or discussions around the events soon get lost in a sea of irrelevant messages. People trying to find information quickly have found it frustrating and navigating the page is for some more than difficult.

Hopefully this website will make life easier and will still embrace the elements of FaceBook to allow for continued passage of information, but in a more logical way.

Like anything new there will be a period of adjustment and hopefully not too many glitches along the way. But the website will only be as good as the input you put into it. I hope you like it and more importantly get involved and contribute to it.
